Desiree is a genie-like ghost who wanders the world granting anyone their deepest desires, but manifests them in the worst way possible. The more wishes she grants, the more powerful she becomes (Only during Memory Blank). She’s one of the few ghosts in the series to have had an explicitly established human life on Earth.
History[]
Previous Life[]
Before she died, Desiree was a harem girl who had won the heart of a sultan. He promised to grant her all of her heart's desires (Her wishes) and even a kingdom of her very own. However, she was cast away from the palace by the sultan's jealous wife. After dying of a broken heart and old age, Desiree's spirit wandered around as a ghost genie, forever granting others' wishes, but at a great personal cost.
Season 1[]
Desiree somehow lands in a genie bottle, which ends up on display at a swap meet in "What You Want." Desiree is unintentionally freed by a little girl who begs her mother for cotton candy when her balloon knocks her bottle over breaking it. She grants the girl's wish by producing a tidal wave of cotton candy that destroys the swap meet. Danny fights her and uses his ghost ray for the first time to blast her away.
Afterwards, she continues granting other wishes: turning Dash into a huge monster to crush the other football team, turning Paulina into a cute anime character and making a surfer's car able to fly. Tucker, jealous of Danny's ghost powers, wishes for ghost powers of his own.
Desiree grants his wish, turning him into Tucker Phantom. Danny captures Desiree by wishing her to disappear into the thermos then defeats Tucker Phantom.
She makes a brief appearance in "Prisoners of Love" as one of the many ghosts in jail. She helps Danny escape from Walker's prison.
Season 2[]
Desiree later gets another starring antagonist role in "Memory Blank" when she arrives in time for the meteor shower, during which many people will be making wishes. She plans to be there to grant as many wishes as she can to gain as much power as she can.
When Sam has a fight with Danny and wishes she never met him, Desiree grants it and creates a world where Danny never met Sam and thus never gained ghost powers.
Sam finally wishes to take back the wish she made prior, causing everyone's memories of her and Danny to be restored and Desiree to be defeated once again.
Desiree has another small appearance in "Reign Storm" when Skulker led millions of ghosts out of the Ghost Zone. She was among the ghosts who took refuge on Earth after Pariah Dark seized control of the entire Ghost Zone.
She returns again in "The Fright Before Christmas" as one of the many ghosts who help Danny save Christmas.
Season 3[]
She’s seen briefly in the series finale "Phantom Planet," first attacked by Masters' Blasters at the beginning and then at the end helping Danny and the other ghosts save the Earth.
Appearance[]
Desiree is a tall, beautiful, green-skinned ghost with an hourglass built, red eyes, long and thick black hair that is slightly messy at the bottom and wears plum lipstick on her lips. As per being a genie, she has no legs and possesses a wispy blue tail.
For attire, Desiree's outfit is mostly Arabian attire, which consists of accessories which includes a blue headband with beads on her head, a large metallic grayish-purple choker with oval-shaped pendants, and four metallic cuffs the same color as her necklace; two of them around her wrists and two of them around her biceps. The cuffs on her wrists are also followed by three blue bangle bracelets; two of them on her right wrists and one on her left wrist, with the bangles, along with her headband, matches the color of her blue tube top with grayish-purple trim at the top. She also dawned a large metallic, grayish-purple belt with a blue jewel placed on the center, hanging over her tail.
When she was alive, Desiree's appearance is exactly the same, except she was brown-skinned with turquoise-blue eyes. Her outfit back then is shown to be similar, only it sported a fuchsia-purple/golden color scheme, and due to the fact she still had legs, she dons harem-pants.
Personality[]
Desiree is a rather vindictive genie. Her wishes reflect this as they often have grave consequences beneath them, such as Sam's absent minded wish of never meeting Danny coming true, with her memories still preserved while nobody else recognizes her. Another time is at the Swap Meet where she makes a little girl's wish for cotton candy come true by turning the cotton candy stand into a volcano that creates a cotton candy tsunami which decimates the Swap Meet. She also uses the wishes of others to her advantage.
Her love tragedy gives her a rather low opinion of men; she refuses to let any man/men touch her unless she wishes it. However, this low opinion is misplaced given as how it was never the Sultan that resulted in her downfall, it was his jealous wife. This actually becomes obvious since he was clearly sad when she was banished.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Intangibility, Invisibility, and Flight: Standard ghost powers. As a genie Desiree can fly anywhere.
- Immortality: Desiree doesn’t age nor can't be killed.
- Wish Granting: As a genie, Desiree has the ability to grant the wish of anyone as soon as they voice it. Most of the wishes she grants have dire consequences on the people who wished them. This is probably due to the wish not being specific, and therefore, she can grant it in any way she chooses (For example, if one were to wish for a monster truck, she could create an actual, literal, monstrous truck; a living huge truck-like monster with fiery eyes and a huge slobbery maw lined with giant fangs). However, she is limited only to however she can interpret the wish and cannot grant it in a way completely unrelated to the wish. Her ability is not under her control, as she is forced to grant every wish that she hears. These include wishes that would lead to her defeat, (the first time she was defeated in this manner, Danny remarks that the way of defeating her was so obvious but he was oblivious to it due to his "C-Student" level of intelligence). The more wishes she grants, the more powerful she becomes. Though, during Christmas, she can use her powers at will.
- Power Granting: The most common use of her power is to grant anybody supernatural powers, such as turning Dash into a hulking brute that could conquer their competition during a football match.
- Telekinesis: She causes the cotton candy machine to overload, spewing cotton candy into the sky. Under the Ghost Writer's powers, Desiree used this power to restore trees to full health and pristine condition. When this power is used, a glowing pink light shines from her hands.
- Spectral Body Manipulation: She can change the size of her body parts and transform them into objects or weapons to fight Danny, like a hammer, a rope, or making her hands bigger.
- Supernatural strength: She was as strong as Danny during their first fight.
- Power Negation: When she trapped Danny in her enlarged hand, she prevented Danny from using some of his ghost powers like intangibility.
- Size Alteration: When she grew power powerful she grew.
- Remote Hearing: Desiree can hear wishes being spoken. Desiree can then teleport directly to the wisher's location.
- Teleportation: She can appear whenever someone makes a wish, often appearing as a green or pink mist.
- Telepathy (possibly): Desiree has shown the ability to read the thoughts of others.[1] Although unconfirmed, it’s possible that this could be telepathy.
Weaknesses[]
The only clear weakness Desiree seems to have is her wish granting powers. While it is implied that Desiree isn't forced to grant every wish she hears, Desiree doesn't seem to think about the wishes she grants until it's too late which usually leads to her downfall.

Trivia[]
- The name Desiree is a play on "desire."
- Along with the Ghost Writer, Desiree is the only villain who displays no hostility in the first encounter with Danny, as she seemingly just wanted to know Danny’s wish before he shot her away.
- Desiree apparently has 4th wall breaking capabilities as demonstrated during the episode "Memory Blank" when she says, "So you have wished it, so-" then looks at the audience and says "you know the rest."
- Desiree does not appear with most of the other ghost villainesses in “Girl’s Night Out”. This is rather ironic since the theme of disliking men is very appropriate with her character (even if flawed given her backstory of a man loving her and a woman being the reason for her vengeful nature).
- In both episodes that Desiree was the main villain, there were additional one-shot villains, all produced by her wish-granting power. Both times, the ones who made the wishes that led to these villains were Danny's friends. The first one was created by Tucker's wish, while the other three were created by Sam's wish.
- Incidentally, both of her appearances as the main antagonist are in episodes in which Danny has a conflict with Sam or Tucker.
- She’s one of the few ghosts to have had a human life, or at least evidence of a human life. This contradicts with what Butch Hartman said in a video on his YouTube Channel where he said the ghosts in the Danny Phantom universe are spiritual beings from another dimension and not the spirit of the deceased.
- Technically Desiree should be the easiest ghost to defeat as Danny and Sam had wished her to be defeated but they only realized this until after the damage Desiree has caused is done.
- Danny himself admits to this in her debut episode when he tells her "I wish you would disappear inside this thermos!". After which he "wishes" he had thought of that five days prior.
