Harriet Chin is one of Jack and Maddie's college classmates. She was a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal.
Harriet went to the University of Wisconsin and was in the same graduating class as Jack, Maddie, and Vlad. During their time in university she was friends with Jack and Maddie, though more so of the latter.
After graduating from University, Harriet traveled the world as a reporter. One of her proud accomplishments is her coverage of the guerrilla uprising in Rumakistan and the exclusive interview she managed to get with the rebel leader.
In "Bitter Reunions," she attends the 20-year reunion that Vlad hosts at his mansion. During the reunion, she and Jack do not get along. He annoys her by bringing up that he used to call her "Harrie Chin," which she does not enjoy, and she bores him with her stories of past stories she's written. When she hears that Jack might be possessed by a ghost, she follows Maddie to try to get a scoop and documents everything with a small recording device. She is skeptical at first, assuming the chaos was caused by Jack, but becomes excited when she gathers enough information to prove that ghosts exist. By the end of the evening she warmed up to Jack, partially apologizing for labeling him a "crackpot" and grateful for the expected boost in her career. But when she tries to publish it, the Milwaukee Journal fires her for her "crackpot" story. She subsequently blamed Jack for this.
She wears a mint green business suit, and matching stud earrings. She keeps her black hair tied back in a low ponytail.
